Report from the FDA: Do Not Take Miracle Mineral Solution
by admin on: May 6th, 2011

Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) is a product that is available through a number of Internet websites or Internet distributors???some websites refer to this product as ???Miracle Mineral Supplement.??? Regardless of what the product is called, many of the websites that offer this product advertise that it is indicated to treat multiple unrelated diseases. Some of the diseases reported to be treated by MMS include hepatitis, HIV viral infections, common colds, acne, H1N1 flu virus, and cancer. The FDA has stated that they are unaware of any research suggesting that the MMS product is efficacious at treating any of the above listed diseases.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the instructions for preparing this product, which is to be taken as an oral preparation, state that consumers are to mix a 28-percent sodium chlorite solution (MMS) with an acid-based liquid, such as a citrus-based juice. However, the FDA reports that following the instructions listed with the product, consumers produce industrial-strength bleach.

Ingesting bleach, and products containing a lot of bleach, can cause some serious health problems and harm. The FDA reported that they have received several reports of injuries related to consumers using this product. The FDA reported that consumers that took high oral doses of this product (which the FDA refers to as ???bleach???) reported symptoms that included severe dehydration-related symptoms, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

The FDA also reiterated that consumers are putting themselves at risk by using this product to self-medicate themselves. In fact, the FDA is continuing to investigate these reports and may pursue legal action (criminal enforcement) in order to better protect the public from this dangerous ??? yet available ??? product. Finally, the FDA concluded their warning by recommending that consumers seek appropriate medical treatment for their ailments and encouraged consumers to seek FDA-approved pharmacological therapies.
